Civic Infrastructure Scans
A civic infrastructure scan is an assessment process conducted by municipalities to evaluate the state of their civic resources and networks, including community organizations, public services, and communication channels. It helps identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for enhancing civic engagement and participation within the community.
The Center for Democracy Innovation based at the National Civic League, has been working with pilot communities in Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Indiana to implement Civic Infrastructure Scans.

Generation Citizen's (GC) - mission is to utilize an “equity-rooted community-based approach, [to ensure] that students of all backgrounds realize the power of their own voices by leading real-world civics projects.” Through championing hands-on civic education, legislative advocacy and coalition building, and youth leadership development, GC teaches young people how to have a voice and become active community participants, participating in a real way in local government decisions.
