Peter is Co-Founder and Vice President, Strategy at the Local Policy Lab. He also serves as CEO of Futures Unbound, a philanthropy that succeeded the Moxie Foundation, which he also led. 

Peter brings three decades’ experience as a leader and innovator across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. An attorney by practice, entrepreneur by blood, and environmentalist by passion, Peter has served in a range of capacities, including owner of a business law firm, Deputy Mayor of Solana Beach, California (where he was the initial Chair of the city’s Climate Action Commission and held board positions with several public agencies), founder of the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce, and a company CEO.

Peter cares about growing engaged and sustainable communities. He currently serves on the boards of the ZIP Entrepreneurship Platform at San Diego State University; the Foundation for City College of New York, as well as the College’s Innovation Center;  the clean technology Rocket Fund at Caltech’s Resnick Sustainability Center, as well as Columbia University Law Schools’s Environmental Law Advisory Committee.
